At SHS, we want to give anyone the opportunity to help. Can’t help with supplies? You cans still help schools by making a tax-deductible contribution to Students Helping Students, which is a 501(c)(3) public charity.
School Funding Initiative
School Funding Initiative – This initiative is designed to give teachers and faculty members at low-income educational institutions an opportunity to receive additional funding as a way to mitigate or solve a specific and systemic problem that the low-income school and Students Helping Students have identified.
Whether a school wants to start a sports program, fulfill a textbook inventory, produce a yearbook, launch an after school program or undertake another initiative, the School Funding Initiative provides a channel to raise the seed money to make it a reality.
To qualify for the School Funding Initiative, the school must be considered a “low-income school”. A school is considered to be low-income and eligible for Title 1 funding if it meets the following criteria: At least 40 percent of the children in the school attendance area are from low-income families.
